{sock monkey party hats} - Crafty Crafty

I have been so busy lately with everything , so I haven't been on here for a few days! There is a good excuse... my son is turning ONE in 37 days... and like almost ALL first time moms, I want my sons birthday to be GRAND! (I just hope it all goes as I envision in my head). I am even making the Party hats! so I decided to post how I made them. hope you get inspired and enjoy!

I used standard party hat you can get at your local dollar store

turn the hat the seam and unlatch the hat
gently roll the hat so it is easier to roll inside out and re-latch
now, gently peal away the tape that is holding the elastic to the hat (if your hat doesnt have tape, skip this step)
Next, take 1/2 inch ribbon and cut into 16 inch strips (enough to do all your party hats)
fold the ribbon so there is about 1 inch difference on one side and fold the middle into each other to make the ribbon a slight 'V' shape
Hot glue the folded ribbon on the back seam of the hat, and strategically wrap the ribbon around the hat so it covers the part where the elastic is attached. Once the ribbon is brought around to the front of the hat, hot glue the ends of the ribbon so the overlapped part slightly hits the hat.
Once the ribbon is overlapped and hot glued, glue the ribbon down on the inside brim of the Party hat.
the front of the Party Hat should now look like this
after all of the ribbons are on the hats, I then hot glued a puff ball on the top of the hat.
I then cut 2 1/2 inch circles and drew/colored Party Sock Monkey's on them
VOILA!
